The Shorewood Financial Services Story

In 1944 Greg Nebel's father purchased 60 acres next to Potawatomi State Park and built a resort with fifteen units, restaurant, and a shorefront on Sturgeon Bay that included a beach and dock. Since the name Nebel means mist or fog in German, they named it the Misty Hollow Resort. My guess is too many people thought the headless horseman might come, so fairly quickly the name was changed to the Shorewood Motel. The area is beautiful with many miles of forest ending gracefully at the shore, and the resort still exists today.

So as fate would have it, the name found us again as we searched for our new business name. We would like to think of it as enduring and peaceful, and built on the hard work of the small business owner.
